Fashion: Georgia on my mind

Hubs and I went to Georgia this past week; 4th of July in ATL, and Savannah the latter part of the week. My favorite part is figuring out what to wear with which tourist activity. I scored big when had their entire site for 50% off! Shopsosie Beach Days Maxi Dress: Shopsosie– I got this dress for $19! What a steal! Shopsosie2 Chloe Maxi Dress: Shopsosie– This one was $21! I felt like I was robbing them 😉 Shopsosie3 Granada Romper: Shopsosie– This romper was only $27! Such a beautiful piece. I’m not sure how I discovered, but I have been purchasing clothes from them for years now. Another brand I stumbled upon is Show Me Your Mumu. I am obsessed. Their pieces are a little more pricey, but they are comfy and chic. ATL Top: I got this Show Me Your Mumu top from Revolve Clothing. It’s on sale here. Bottom: Free People (my new fave skinny jeans!)- find it here. Shoes: Tory Burch- I bought these at Nordstrom during their ‘Clear The Rack’ sale. They are currently sold out there and at Tory online. I found some on this site, but they have limited sizes. Hat: I bought this at a year ago, but here is one similar. _MG_5941((oops, a little blurry!) Rascal Romper: Show Me Your Mumu- The Lei Bay print is sold out, but here is the same romper with a different print (still gorg!) This is my fashion round-ups for Georgia. Stay tuned for the next blog about all the places we saw, where we stayed, and most importantly, where we ate! We ate so good that I literally gained 5 pounds this week! Eep! Have a fab week! @mrsabbys

Cheers to THREE years!

The month of June we celebrated three years of marriage. Hubs is my lover, confidant, and my best bud. He is where I feel safe, where I can be silly, and where I can vent my bad days to.

So much has happened in the three years since we first moved out of our hometown, when we first took that leap of faith, where we followed God’s calling.

Our first year of marriage was spent in Austin, TX, where we joined the newlywed class at the Austin Sone. That class gave us the foundation for the days we argued about finances, cried about the differences in our culture, communication, in-laws, but most of all it gave us the best support group of couples who were also going through the same life stage.

Year two was spent transitioning. We were settling in our lives in Texas, when God called for us to relocate again. We have never been to North Carolina, did not know a soul in the state, and knew nothing about Duke except basketball. We trust God has called us here for a reason more than just a degree.

The last year has been the toughest. Being away from the familiarity of family, getting lost in our new location, and figuring out what to do when hubs was gone for away rotation made for some rough days. We hung onto God. We reminded ourselves that He has called us to be here. We didn’t plan on moving away, we didn’t plan on living far from our family and friends, and we certainly didn’t plan on living in this small apartment where my clothes won’t even fit in our closet. But that’s exactly it, we are not in control, God is. Our life is better than what we can imagine or plan. God has blessed me with a job, God has blessed hubs with getting into school, and God has blessed us far more abundantly than we can ever ask or think.

“Husbands love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her” Eph 5:25

I am blessed to be married to such a God-fearing man to share in my walk with Jesus. He cherishes me, values me, pursues me, and above all, points my heart to Jesus.

Today, hubs and I went on a coffee date to Sola Coffee Cafe in Raleigh. The weather felt so nice, not too cold- not too hot. I had an almond latte and coco mini donuts. It was so delicious. I’m still doing well on my healthy eating, but it’s good to not deprive yourself, either.

I am a huge football fanatic. I love football season! I root for the New Orleans Saints. It’s been hard to catch all their games living in North Carolina (Panther territory!), but I still keep up on my ESPN app (cue “Football on my phone” by the Manning Bros.).

We decided to celebrate the Saints win by checking out Boylan Bridge Brewpub in downtown. Of course, I had to dress for the occasion. 🙂
